Center-Filled LIMA, complete continent now in two easily downloadable formats.

Center-Filled LIMA provides a stunning view of Antarctica. LIMA covers the entire continent except from the South Pole at 90 degrees south to 82.5 degrees south latitude, where Landsat has no coverage because of its near-polar orbit. To create a seamless mosaic of the entire continent, this Center-Filled LIMA completes the continent with imagery from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Mosaic of Antarctica (MOA). MOA’s grayscale was converted to Red, Green and Blue (RGB) and color balanced to match the natural color of LIMA and processed to create a pleasing visual appearance. For convenient display on most graphical platforms, this mosaic has a spatial resolution of 240 meters.
